It seems vinyl has finally gotten its groove back (sorry, had to). According to a recent UK report (ERA), vinyl outsold CDs in the UK music industry in 2022. The report also revealed that the total music sales reached $2.4 billion, with streaming services being the main driver of growth. Time to dust off those old record players! (Link)
New Jersey & Ohio bans TikTok on government devices.
TikTok has greatly impacted the music industry, but the platform is also facing adversity. New Jersey and Ohio have joined over 20 other US states in banning TikTok on government devices due to concerns over data privacy and cyber security. The list of banned software also includes Huawei Technologies, WeChat, Alibaba products and Russian cybersecurity firm Kaspersky Lab. (Link)
